Your party will be welcomed dockside in downtown Ketchikan by Tlingit elder Joe Williams, Jr., where you’ll prepare to enjoy a short 3-mile drive to Saxman Native Village along our breathtaking coastline. Upon arrival, this truly one-of-a-kind experience begins with listening to legendary stories of the numerous towering totem poles situated throughout the beautiful park.
From there, you’ll enter the famous Beaver Clan House to experience firsthand the lifestyle as it once was for our people. The tour wraps up with a quick visit to our world-renowned carving shed, where local artists can be seen actively creating their traditional artwork. Some of these locally crafted pieces are now on display at the Bundestag in Berlin, Germany, and at the Field Museum in Chicago, Illinois.

This premier opportunity features our Saxman Village Tour, plus a unique visit to Cape Fox Lodge, which is situated directly above historic Creek Street. At the lodge, you’ll be welcomed by Tlingit elder Joe Williams, Jr., and shortly thereafter, lunch will be served along with a narration of Tlingit culture and local traditions.
During this special event, local Tlingit indigenous people will also entertain the party with traditional songs and dances while displaying their ancestral-inspired handcrafted regalia. When the show is over, you'll receive a parting gift, and then you’ll have the option to either walk back to your ship or be transported by motor coach.
